Police Identify Suspects In Connection With Old Sacramento Shooting

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Two people arrested in connection with a celebratory shooting in Old Sacramento early Wednesday morning are facing serious charges.

At midnight, Rafael Avendano, 22, allegedly walked up the railing of the parking garage in the southwest corner of Old Sacramento and fired his gun into the air in a celebratory manner, say police. Nearby officers heard the shots and quickly came to the area. With help from witnesses, police identified Avendano and a second suspect, 24-year-old Tatiana Lee, as suspects. Witnesses also helped officers find the gun allegedly used in the incident that had been stashed out of sight.

Avendano was arrested on multiple gun charges, including discharging a firearm in a grossly negligent manner, possession of a stolen gun and multiple gang enhancements. Lee was arrested on conspiracy charges.
