SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – It’s a story that’s sure to ruffle feathers tonight, and we’re hoping you can help quack the case.

Yes, Gabe the duck is missing. The 9-month-old Welsh harlequin mallard was most likely stolen from his front yard near 18th and Broadway in Sacramento on Sunday morning.

Even though Gabe belonged to a single owner, he was a feathered friend to many in the neighborhood.

“I don’t know why anybody would take a duck,” said Gabe’s owner, Alicia Yankey. “He was an interesting pet. He had a little mind of his own. He did whatever he wanted, he’d go visit the neighbors and come back.”

The owners have placed an ad on Craigslist and say they will gladly take Gabe back, no questions asked.
