Man Shot And Killed Near Sacramento Executive Airport

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Police are investigating a shooting in Sacramento on Saturday night that occurred in a residential area four blocks east of Sacramento Executive Airport.

At around 10 p.m. police received multiple calls from citizens reporting that a man had been shot near Hermosa Street and 47th Avenue, according to a statement from the Sacramento Police Dept. Police say they arrived to find the victim, a male in his 20s, lying on the sidewalk with several gunshot wounds. Fire department personnel soon arrived to administer aid, but the man died at the scene.

Police crime scene investigators and detectives reportedly analyzed clues at the scene and believe the victim was standing at the side of the road when he was shot. They say multiple people ran off after the shooting.

The name of the victim has not been released.

The motive behind the killing has not been released. The investigation is ongoing.
