UPDATE: Two People Shot Outside Cal Expo Naughty Gras Event

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Two people were shot at Cal Expo on Saturday night and police are on the lookout for the suspect.

Sacramento Police responded to the shooting just past 10 p.m. and searched for a suspect who witnesses say fled the scene.

That suspect wasn't found. He's described as a black man wearing a black hoodie who ran west from the fairgrounds toward the Capital City Freeway.

Officials say one person had a wound to the leg and another was wounded in the hand and side.

The shooting happened as the event Naughty Gras was happening. Cal Expo officials say police closed the parking lots and crime scene at around 10:13 p.m. on Saturday. Parking lots C and D were reopened just before 11:30 p.m. and the event continued until its scheduled end at 1:30 a.m.

Event organizers say the majority of people inside at the time were unaware of the violence that took place outside. Roughly 2,400 tickets were sold for the event.
