Victims Of Random Shooting At Cal Expo Expected To Recover

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Police are searching for a suspect behind a shooting at Cal Expo.

It happened Saturday night during the 102.5 KSFM's Naughty Gras party.

After shots were fired, police swarmed the area, closing the scene with crime tape and using a helicopter loudspeaker to disperse the large crowd outside. That's when they discovered two people had been shot.

"Just outside the main gate several shots were fired. In the chaos that ensued, we ended up finding two victims that had been shot," said police Sgt. Scott Smith.

Police say the shots came from a 9 millimeter pistol.

Police do not have a description of the suspect.

One victim was shot in the leg, the other in the hand and the side. Both are expected to survive.
