Pair Arrested For Stealing I-Beam From Abandoned Building

STOCKTON (CBS13) – Police say that two people were arrested in Stockton for stealing an I-beam from an abandoned building.

The incident happened Wednesday afternoon along the 600 block of South Aurora Street, according to the Stockton Police Department. Callers reported to police that two people had dislodged a large I-beam from an abandoned building in the area and were trying taking off.

Officers got to the scene in time to catch two people loading an I-beam into their truck. The two – 46-year-old Baron White and 51-year-old Cleopatra Bernstine – were promptly arrested.

White and Bernstine now face theft and trespassing charges.
