Motorcycle Rider Killed In Crash Near Nut Tree Plaza

VACAVILLE (CBS13) – A Vacaville man is dead after his motorcycle collided head-on with car Sunday afternoon.

Authorities were alerted to the crash along E. Monte Vista Avenue, near County Airport Road, around 3 p.m., Mark Donaldson with the Vacaville Police Department tells CBS13. First responders found that CPR was already being performed on the motorcycle rider.

Paramedics took over and began life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Donaldson said that the driver of the car, an elderly man, also had to be taken to the hospital due to injuries from his airbag deploying. The elderly man is expected to be OK.

The motorcycle rider has only been identified as a Vacaville man in his mid-20s. Police said that he was out with two of his friends also on motorcycles.

Investigators are unsure why the collision happened.
