Placerville Man Arrested After Posting Online Ad Looking For 'Sex Pet'

PLACERVILLE (CBS13) – A man is under arrest after detectives said he posted an online ad looking for a girl to be his "sex pet."

According to the Placer County Sheriff's Office, 26-year-old Placerville resident Shawn Michael Roediger posted the ad on an undisclosed website back on July 29. Detectives allege that Roediger wrote he was looking for a "young girl" to be his "sex pet."

A detective posing as a 13-year-old girl responded to the ad and reportedly corresponded with Roediger for a week.

Monday night, Roediger was arrested by sheriff's detectives. Roediger was later booked at Placer County Jail on charges of attempted lewd and lascivious acts with a child, communicating with a minor for purposes of committing a sexual act, and distributing harmful matter to a minor.

Roediger is being held on $100,000 bail.
