Senior Hit And Killed In Stockton By Sheriff’s Deputy’s Van

STOCKTON (CBS13) – A Stockton senior is dead after he was hit and killed Monday morning by a sheriff’s deputy’s vehicle.

Just before 6 a.m., the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department deputy was working undercover in a special operation when he accidentally hit the senior with his unmarked van at the intersection of AG Spanos Boulevard and Siskiyou Lane, according to a Stockton Police Department spokesperson.

Stockton police are now handling the investigation.

The deputy was “emotionally upset,” said Deputy Les Garcia, a San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson.

Police have not released the victim’s name.
