Modesto Police Trying To Identify Suspect In Shooting That Left Man Dead

MODESTO (CBS13) – A 22-year-old man is dead following a shooting in Modesto late Thursday night, police say.

The incident happened a little after 10 p.m. along the 2300 block of Vera Cruz Drive, according to the Modesto Police Department. Several people called 911 to report a shooting in the area, and once at the scene officers found a man lying unconscious on the ground.

The man, who had been shot at least once, was taken to the hospital but later died from his injuries.

Police have identified the man killed as Modesto resident Dillon Reynolds. There are no indications at this time that the shooting is gang-related, police say.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident and are interviewing witnesses.
