Body Of 70-Year-Old Man Found At Lodi Park

LODI (CBS13) – The body of a retired Lodi firefighter was found at Roget Park Saturday morning, police say.

A passerby at the park - which is right next to the Target shopping center - spotted the body a little after 9:30 a.m., according to the Lodi Police Department. Officers who soon arrived at the scene found that the body was that of a 70-year-old man.

Investigators say that the man looks to have been shot.

Later Saturday, police identified the man as Gary Duck. Family and other sources confirmed that Duck was a former Lodi firefighter.

According to the Lodi Police Department, Duck was last seen by his wife Friday night as she went to bed. She reportedly woke up around 12:45 a.m. Saturday and could not find him, prompting her to file a missing persons report.

Police note that, at this point in the investigation, the death is being called a homicide.
