Car Crashes Into Sacramento Pizza Parlor

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - A car crash on Thursday has left a huge hole in the front of the Mountain Mikes Pizza on La Riviera drive in Sacramento.

Firefighters say the car plowed through the front windows and ended up all the way inside the restaurant, causing major structural damage.

Two employees were inside at the time, but neither they nor the elderly male driver were injured.

"We'll lose quite a bit of money, tons of money" says restaurant owner Jasbir Sangara. "It will be closed until this monday I think."

The pizza place is near Sac State University and weekends are usually their busiest time.

A contractor has been hired to shore up the front of the building and repairs are now underway.
