Folsom Church's Faith Tested After Thieves Steal $200,000 Of Equipment From Container

FOLSOM (CBS13) — A congregation's faith is being tested after thieves made off with big-ticket electronic equipment from a Folsom church's storage container.

It was a somber sight for members of Folsom's Bayside Church on Sunday as up to $200,000 of audio and video equipment was stolen.

The thieves had to cut through multiple locks to get into the metal storage container on the campus of Folsom Middle School, where the church has two weekly Sunday services for 500 members. Taken items include musical instruments, and audio board, projectors and lighting equipment.

"We're now forced to rent all of the equipment to put on the normal services that we put on each and every weekend, so that is extra cost to us," said Mark Miller.

Folsom Police say there are no security cameras in the area, but they're hoping a $10,000 reward will generate leads.

"Usually when someone offers a reward, especially this large people from the public will look around and think if anyone they know has recently come into a lot of A/V equipment," said Andrew Bates.
