Frederick received his Bachelor of Science in business administration and management from Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park, Calif.

When Frederick first graduated, "I began work as a research manager and market analyst. I realized that I wished I had also pursued more education in economics instead of the few classes I had taken. I was doing a ton of economic reports and market studies on real estate."

However, he soon realized that, "The management background experience really helped me to delegate tasks and responsibilities. Having a rounded balance of business courses gave me the ability in my business life to acquire accounting, business analysis, economic analysis and managing tasks. My education did correlate with things I did later in my career." While his siblings chose to go into engineering, which is very structured, Frederick believes his degree helped him with the flexibility he needed in the commercial real estate industry.

He encourages others to pursue a degree including post-graduate degrees. Frederick also advises to decide what field or industry to go into and then get the education. "A business management degree can open up a wide array of different opportunities. My brother-in-law has a business management degree and is managing a Ford manufacturing company overseas with the production of vehicles and truck line."

"The value of a degree is its ability to help you to understand how to process the variables in the work force and really understand the product or service," Frederick said.

Frederick also believes that the value of an education helps with one's personal life. He took an interest in rugby, and used his business and leadership skills to become the team captain of the Sacramento Lions.
