Police Questioning Person Of Interest In Stockton Bank Heist

STOCKTON (CBS13) - Stockton police investigators questioned 21-year-old Pablo Ruvalcaba, a person of interest in the Stockton Bank heist in July that left three people dead in a bloody shootout.

At a press conference Monday, Stockton Police Chief Eric Jones identified Ruvalcaba as a person of interest. He was being sought for questioning as possibly being the driver who dropped the gunmen at the Bank of the West on July 16, said Jones.

After being questioned by investigators, Ruvalcaba was released.

On July 16, three women, including a customer, Misty Holt-Singh, 41, and two female employees, were taken hostage during a robbery at the bank.

A police pursuit and shootout followed when the robbers fled with the hostages in an SUV owned by one of the employees. The two bank employees survived the ordeal by either jumping or getting thrown from the SUV as it sped through town.

Two of the suspects and Holt-Singh were found dead at the end of a final gun battle. Jaime Ramos, 19, the third suspect who police say used Holt-Singh as a human shield, has been charged with murder.

A fourth suspect driving a black four-door sedan was caught on video dropping off the three armed suspects at the bank.

Stockton Police Department investigators arrested a 16-year-old male on Sept. 11 for accessory after a fact and gang charges for allegedly dropping off the car reportedly used in the robbery. That arrest may have been what led investigators to Ruvalcaba.

The investigation is ongoing and police encourage citizens to call the Stockton Police Department at (209) 937-8377, the Investigations Unit at (209) 937-8323, or Crime Stoppers at (209) 946-0600 if they have information. Callers can remain anonymous.

Citizens may also text information from their cell phones to 'Crimes' (274637) and type the keyword TIPSPD and then their tip or logon to the Stockton Police Department's Facebook page and click 'Submit A Tip'. Tipsters may also send tips on the Stockton PD Mobile Phone App. Tipsters can remain anonymous.

There is still a $50,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
