Black Mold Closes Lincoln School For Rest Of Week

LINCOLN (CBS13) – A Lincoln elementary school will be closed the rest of the week due to mold found in a building.

According to the Western Placer Unified School District, the mold was found at a building being renovated at Carlin C. Coppin Elementary. Tests confirmed that it was black mold, probably caused by water getting in during the repairs.

Classes at Coppin Elementary, along with the Head Start and STAR programs, have been canceled from Wednesday through Friday.

The district notes that more testing will be done, but normal classes are expected to resume come Monday.
