Snake Slithers Its Way Into Citrus Heights Apartment

CITRUS HEIGHTS (CBS13) – Imagine finding a snake just hanging around in your bathroom.

Citrus Heights Police say that's exactly what happened to one resident early Thursday morning.  Around 2 a.m., an officer showed up at an apartment complex at 7711 Greenback Lane after someone reported that there was a snake in their bathroom.

The officer soon found that there was indeed a 2-3 foot snake on the bathroom ceiling fan. Police say the officer was able to corral the snake without the help of animal control.

Apparently, the snake belongs to a person who lives in the unit above. It somehow slithered its way through a vent and down into the unit below.

Police aren't sure what kind of snake it is, but they're guessing it's either a boa constrictor or a python.
