SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Over a dozen new investors will be joining the Sacramento Republic FC owners group.

In a statement issued by the team on Monday, lead investor Kevin Nagle announced the following new investors were added to the group, which also consists of club President Warren Smith, and developer Larry Kelley:

• MMA fighter Urijah Faber
• Fulcrum Property President and founder Mark L. Friedman
• Pacific Coast Building Products President Dave Lucchetti
• Buzz Oates Group of Companies Chairman Phil Oates
• The Benvenuti Family Trust
• Sleep Train founder and CEO Dale Carlsen
• 01 Communications founder Brad Jenkins
• Jonna (CEO of Visionary Integration Professionals) and Roger Ward
• Kids Care Dental Founder Dr. Aaron Reeves
• Sacramento Jet Center President Scott Powell

The group's investments depend on Sacramento getting its own MLS team.

"I'm thrilled to partner with this esteemed group of local business people," said Nagle. "Their collective investment in Sacramento Republic FC further bolsters the profile and financial strength of our ownership group, getting us another step closer toward our goal of a Major League Soccer franchise."

The team capped off their already memorable inaugural season by winning the USL Pro Championship game on their home turf at the end of September. The game was arguably the hottest ticket in town, with tickets selling for more than quadruple their face value the night leading up to the match.
