Ceremony Held In Sacramento To Honor Fallen Firefighters
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - A solemn procession today through Capitol Park honored California firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Family members, colleagues and others paid tribute at the California Firefighters Memorial ceremony in downtown Sacramento.
Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom spoke about the importance of honoring the fallen firefighters.
"We can make sure perhaps more important than anything, we can properly honor the unflinching...by ensuring that their loved ones, will be cared for, just as they cared for us," said Newsom.
The names of 15 fallen firefighters will be added to the California Firefighters Memorial.
