Sacramento County Mom Accused Of Abandoning Children Over Weekend

SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) — Four children were found abandoned, hungry and covered in lice, and Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies say their mother likely dropped some of them off.

JIllian Julainus, 32, is accused of abandoning two of her children in a park over the weekend.

Deputies say it came to light on Saturday morning when a stranger found Julianus' 7-year-old developmentally disabled daughter wandering alone in a park. Investigators say they child was dirty, hungry and didn't know where her mom was, and apparently spent the night in the park.

Officers say because of the child's disabilities, she couldn't explain where her mother was, and Child Protective Services took over.

On Sunday, investigators got another call from another good Samaritan who found a 5-year-old girl wandering in the same park, alone.

That child allegedly led officers to Julianus' nearby home where two more children, ages 10 and 2, were found deprived and covered in lice.

Neighbors believe those good Samaritans saved the children from disaster.

"So many things could have happened to them whether it was by a predator or a homeless person or just anybody," said Christine Chapling.

Julianus faces child endangerment charges and is in jail on $50,000 bond.
