City Of Auburn Approves Home-Sharing Businesses
AUBURN (CBS13) - Auburn city officials have approved making home-sharing businesses such as Airbnb legal. It's a first of its kind in the region.
The measure was approved 3-2, with one restriction: Residents can't rent out single family dwellings.
Homeowners would need to apply for a licensing fee, create rules for parking and noise and notify neighbors.
Supporters say legalizing short-term rentals may also keep more business in Auburn on busy weekends when all of the hotel rooms are booked.
