Sonora Boys, 17, Suspected Of Severely Beating Homeless Man

SONORA (CBS13) – Police say that two teens have been arrested for allegedly attacking a Sonora homeless man.

Investigators believe the same two teens are responsible for attacking the same homeless man back in October. In the earlier incident, police say that the man was so severely beaten that he suffered a skull fracture.

Further, police say there have been five cases since Oct. 1 of Sonora homeless being attacked by two people.

Tuesday, the homeless man who had his skull fractured in the earlier attack was again assaulted by two people, police say. The incident happened a little after 7 p.m. near the Save Mart on Stockton Road. Officers were able to find and detain the suspects – two 17-year-old boys from Sonora.

Investigators say that one of the teens is a person of interest in the other five attacks on Sonora homeless.

The teens - who are not being identified - are now in the custody of the Tuolumne County Probation Department. They are facing charges of felony battery resulting in great bodily injury.
