Sacramento Santa Parade Kickstarter Effort Lagging, Only 10 Percent Raised So Far

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — The Santa Parade in Sacramento is struggling to get the money it needs, meaning the event is likely to be canceled.

CBS13 brought you the story where parade organizers launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise the $14,000 needed to put on the event, but the campaign has only raised about a quarter of the money. The effort runs through Wednesday.

It wouldn't be the first time they've had to cancel the event because of money problems. In 2008, newly elected Mayor Kevin Johnson was able to save the parade at the last minute with leftover inauguration cash.
