Fairfield Family's Message To Christmas Thief: Don't Do It Again

FAIRFIELD (CBS13) — A culprit stole Christmas gifts from four Fairfield children, and now their mother is begging the thief to have a heart.

Tamara Boone and her husband are raising four kids, including a daughter with cerebral palsy. They wanted to hide the gifts they bought for their children in a storage unit. But two weeks ago, they got a call that all of the presents had been stolen.

It's clearly already Christmastime at the Boone residence, but this year a Christmas crook threatened to ruin their holiday.

"He said that all the gifts were gone," she said.

Boone says out of all the units there, a thief broke into theirs, and all of the gifts they bought for their four children were taken.

She and her husband raise four children, a niece and three of their own, including their youngest who has physical delays, and a daughter with cerebral palsy.

"She is deaf and blind and she also has seizures and some chronic lung problems," she said.

What's more, Boone says the storage unit's cameras didn't catch the thief in action, so there are no leads for investigators.

"I mean, it would be nice if justice was served," she said.

Boone says even if the thief never gets caught, she wants him or her to know it's never too late to stop being a Scrooge.

"Even if justice wasn't served, if they saw this and you know didn't do it again, that would be good too," she said. "I don't want it to happen to any other family."

She says she'd also be happy if the thief dropped off those gifts at the storage unit, no questions asked.

A family friend recently started a crowdfunding page for the Boone family and raised a couple of hundred dollars, but the family isn't asking for donations. They just want the thief not to strike again.
