Chaos Ensues After Shooting At Bonfire Near Sloughhouse

SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) – Emergency crews are tending to multiple victims after a reported shooting and multiple car accidents at a bonfire near Rancho Murieta.

Deputies responded to the chaotic scene near Meiss and Dillard Roads, south of Sloughhouse, just after 3 a.m. Several people called 911 to report a shooting had happened at the scene.

When deputies arrived, they found that a bonfire had been taking place. Around a dozen people between the ages of 17-24 were at the scene.

Deputies found that at least one shot was fired and that one person was hit in the arm. At least eight other people were injured in car accidents as they were possibly trying to get away from the scene. Another person also looks to have been hurt in a fight, deputies say.

Multiple people were seen in handcuffs at the scene. Investigators are still trying to sort out the situation.

Deputies have arrested 21-year-old Sacramento resident Julian Ikaika Sebalabarraza for the shooting. He has been booked at Sacramento County Jail and is facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon. He also had a felony warrant out for his arrest.

The area is said to be private property and the gatherers were at the scene illegally.

All injuries are not life-threatening, deputies say.
