What drew Campi into this line of work "was a gradual evolution through education and experience. In college, I was interested in psychology, criminal justice and social work. Becoming a criminal defense attorney just seemed to fall into place."

One word of wisdom that she has acquired over the years is to "Stay out of the trial court room if you can. Trials are risky, for both defense and prosecution. The efforts I make in settlement negotiations are time well spent."

Campi recalls a memorable and positive experience to this point, with a case she tried in Federal Court. "I represented a prisoner as plaintiff in an excessive force case. It was just me, one little attorney, against a defense firm representing five San Bernardino County deputies. Verdict was returned in my client's favor for general damages plus punitive damages!"

Campi graduated from California State University of Sacramento (CSUS) with a B.A. in corrections that included a major in social work and a minor in criminal justice. This gave her the foundation to obtain her Law Degree from the Ventura College of Law."

"Get as much hands-on experience as possible! Work your way through school as a law clerk or even volunteer. This is what gave me the cutting edge as a young lawyer," suggests Campi.

"There is no better feeling than when I am able to put a person in a better place and/or on track to a better life than he or she was on when they walked through my door."

And such positive intentions are what afford Campi the ability to deliver the constructive outcomes that begin with a balanced life from her home in the country where she is with her animals, garden and wildlife. "Natural surroundings give me peace."
