Water Conservation Fatigue Setting In As California Use Not Falling Enough In Drought

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — State officials are quick to warn that even with the significant rain falling across California in the past week, the drought is far from over and not enough people are conserving water.

The California Water Resources Board says residents aren't making the effort to conserve for the second straight month. In October, residents cut water use by just seven percent, compared to a 12 percent reduction in August.

But there are some parts of the state that aren't dealing with conservation fatigue and are outperforming others in their water-saving efforts.

Redwood City saw a 38 percent drop in water use from last year, while Davis and Sacramento had 23 percent and 20 percent drops, respectively.
