Police Label Sacramento Man's Death As Homicide After Signs Of Foul Play Found At Home

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Police say that signs of foul play have led them to classify the death of a man in Sacramento as a homicide.

According to the Sacramento Police Department, officers were called to the 1400 block of 68th Avenue Friday evening to do a welfare check. Friends of a man who lived at the home were reportedly worried after not hearing from him for some time.

The man was found at the home, but emergency crews had to wait for a Hazmat team to arrive before going inside after the smell natural gas was noted.

Fire crews declared the man dead at the scene.

Officers noted signs of foul play in the home, prompting homicide detectives to be called to the scene. Police have not detailed what signs have led them to label the incident as a homicide, however.

Police not that the incident looks to be isolated, but a motive for the homicide has not been identified.
