Strong Storm Putting Christmas Decoration Plans On Hold In Sacramento
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A strong winter storm expected to hit Sacramento later this week is forcing some homeowners to rethink and possibly take down their Christmas decorations.
Wind gusts heading up to 60 mph could send strands of lights and yard decorations flying starting late Wednesday and through Friday.

One holiday hotspot in East Sacramento is filled with decorations and homeowners wondering what this storm could do.
Kevin Erlandson has Santa on the piano, reindeer with a sleigh and thousands of lights in all shapes and sizes. There's no way his decorations could come down before the storm rolls in, even if he wanted to. Instead, he's putting up even more decorations.
He's anchored everything down with bolts, wooden stakes and staples.
For others in the Fab 40s district, the holidays are on hold.
"Haven't seen anybody taking stuff down, but I have seen a few people who haven't put anything up. They're waiting until next weekend," he said.
There's no waiting around for truckers making deliveries during the holiday season. With the risk of high winds possibly toppling trailers, truck driver David Saha says Wal-Mart is moving things up ahead of the storm.
"They gave us a message earlier today that every load that's on the yard is going out early," he said. "They're pushing everything early and out as soon as possible before that storm comes in."
