Storm Brings Record Rainfall To Many Areas

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Five different areas reported record amounts of rainfall after Thursday's storm.

According to the National Weather Service, Redding, Red Bluff, Sacramento Executive Airport, Stockton and Modesto all broke rainfall records for the day.

The new numbers, and previous records, are listed below:

Redding: 2.17 inches, beating the 1.83 inches set in 1995 and 1983.

Red Bluff: 2.88 inches, beating the 2.72 inches set in 1937.

Sacramento Executive Airport: 2.39 inches, beating the 2.00 inches set in 1995.

Stockton: 1.92 inches, beating the 1.53 inches set in 1995.

Modesto: 2.18 inches, beating the 1.14 inches set in 1937.

Rain will continue to fall Friday, but most of the action will now be in the Sierra and in Southern California. Since noon Thursday, NWS reports, 19 inches of snow has been reported at Donner Summit.
