Stockton Police Looking For Grinch Seen Stealing Packages From Porches

STOCKTON (CBS13) – Police are asking for help in identifying a couple of thieves who have been targeting packages left on the front porches of Stockton homes.

Clear footage of one of the thefts was caught by a home's surveillance system. In the video released by the Stockton Police Department, a woman is seen getting out of a pickup truck and walking up to the porch. She then picks up a box and jogs back to the truck.

According to police, a couple of other residents on Winding River Circle have reported package thefts as well.

In one incident, the suspects appear to have seen a US Mail carrier deliver a package to a home, because police say the suspects drove by the carrier then came back six minutes late to grab the box.

The video released by police clearly shows the woman suspected of grabbing the packages. Police describe her as a heavyset white or Hispanic woman who has long red hair and was wearing black high-top boots with white pants, a pink shirt, a black jacket and a red hat or bandana.

Little information on the suspected driver has been given. However, the truck used in the thefts looks to be a 90s-model Nissan with a front license plate slight bent outward at the bottom.

Anyone who recognizes the suspects or the truck is asked to call the Stockton Police Department at (209) 937-8377.
