Rain Arriving In Sacramento Valley Just In Time For Friday Morning Commute

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - We're looking forward to a wet early commute on Friday , and then we'll dry out the rest of the day.

The front will come along and generate precipitation, especially for your morning drive on Friday.

A winter-weather advisory is in effect above 6,000 feet, bringing about six inches of snow to the Sierra.

Higher elevations to the north of our area could see some slight precipitation.

We'll see showers in our area at 7 a.m. Friday, with lingering showers to the east of our area, in the foothills and in the bay area around 4 p.m.

In the Sierra , snow is expected to start around 7 a.m., pass through our area, and at about 4 p.m. , we'll see some more snow.

In the valley, we'll have a slight chance of rain Saturday. Skies will be mostly cloudy Sunday and then we'll have fog on Monday.

Highs next week will be in the upper 50s.
