Small Plane Crashes In Amador County, Killing 2

AMADOR COUNTY - Two people have died in a plane crash in Amador County.

At 12:30 p.m., authorities received a call reporting the crash near the town of Sutter Creek, according to an Amador County Sheriff's Department spokesperson.

The Cessna 172 crashed under "unknown circumstances" in the 12000 block of Shake Ridge Road, FAA spokesperson Ian Gregor tells CBS13. The crash site is in a rural field two miles north of the airport where the plane is believed to have taken off.

The identities of the two people who were killed have not been released.
