Sailboat Temporarily Stuck Under I Street Bridge

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - The captain of a sailboat was in a bind on the Sacramento River Wednesday night after the boat he was piloting got stuck while passing under the I Street Bridge.

Witnesses tell CBS13 the boat was trying headed upstream near when the mast became wedged under the multi-level bridge.

Emergency crews shut down the bridge to all traffic while the boat's operator struggled against the current to get the boat free from the steel structure.

The boater was eventually able to lower the mast and float safely downstream.
