Authorities Identify Diamond Springs Seniors Attacked Inside Home

DIAMOND SPRINGS, Calif. CBS13) - Authorities have identified the two El Dorado County seniors who were assaulted inside of their home on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

Faye Holderman, 80, suffered injuries to her face from being hit, and Gerald Holderman, 91, underwent surgery yesterday for a possible gunshot wound they suffered at their home in Diamond Springs.

Fay reportedly called El Dorado County's 911 center at 8:43 a.m. Wednesday in distress, claiming she and Gerald were held hostage before midnight Tuesday night, were injured and could not get up, according to a statement from the El Dorado County Sheriff's Department.

When deputies arrived at the home in the 500 block of Arlette Lane in Diamond Springs, they found the couple with serious visible injuries. They were treated by paramedics and taken to the hospital.

Detectives say there are signs of forced entry into the Holdermans' home, but it was not ransacked. They have not determined whether anything was stolen.

Sheriff's Detectives are actively working this case and ask anyone with information about it to contact Detective Ken Barber at (530) 642-4710 or Detective James Peterson at (530) 642-4713.

The town of Diamond Springs is located about 43 miles east of Sacramento.
