Protest Marks Swearing In Of Grass Valley City Council Member

GRASS VALLEY (CBS13) - A former Nevada County supervisor was sworn in today as a Grass Valley city council member, just days after being charged with possessing child pornography.

Terry Lamphier won election to the city council in November as he was being investigated on criminal charges.

Last week, the district attorney formally charged Lamphier with three misdemeanor charges of possessing child pornography.

A crowd of protesters gathered outside the city council chamber holding signs reading "keep Grass Valley safe for children", "not OK Terry" and "resign now".

Lamphier told CBS13 the allegations were false and asked for his colleagues to be patient.
