No Official Cause Released In Antelope Freight Train Derailment

ANTELOPE (CBS13) — A freight train hauling seven cars derailed in Antelope Monday night, prompting the evacuation of a rail yard due to the contents of one of the cars.

The train derailed near Antelope North Road and Poker Lane in the 8 p.m. hour. One of the cars contained a hazardous material. That car was taken away on Tuesday morning.

Some of the other cars contained plastic pellets. All were uprighted on Tuesday morning.

No one was injured in the incident.

The exact cause of the derailment is under investigation.
