Stockton Ice Cream Truck Driver Robbed At Gunpoint, Ordered To Strip To Underwear

STOCKTON (CBS13) — Two men robbed an ice-cream truck driver at gunpoint and made him strip to his underwear, Stockton Police said on Tuesday.

The 54-year-old driver was on Fox Creek Drive on Monday when the suspects approached him. While one threatened to shoot him if he moved, the other demanded money and told him to strip down.

Stockton Police spokesman Joe Silva says the crime is more common than you might think.

"Over the last several years we've probably had a half-dozen ice cream trucks, ice cream vendors being targeted during street robberies," he said. "Normally they do occur during the summer months."

The suspects took the driver's clothes, car keys, cellphone and cash.
