Woman Gets Stuck Shimmying Naked Down Ex-Boyfriend's Chimney

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) — A woman who had to be rescued from a fireplace in Riverside County was the ex-girlfriend of the homeowner and tried to shimmy down the chimney naked.

The man — Tony Hernandez — tells KCBS-TV that the 35-year-old woman is the mother of their three children but is barred from seeing them.

Hernandez says he woke up at 4:30 a.m. Saturday, heard the woman's cries for help and tried to free her himself but had to call the fire department.

A county fire statement says it took two dozen firefighters two hours to free the woman, whose name has not been released.

A photograph posted on KNBC-TV's website shows bare, soot-covered legs dangling inside a fireplace, which had been partially dismantled by firefighters.
