Fast-Moving Fire Tears Through Elderly Woman's Home
SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) – Flames quickly tore through an elderly woman's home early Thursday morning.
The fire at the Kevin Court, near Watt Avenue, home was first reported just after 3 a.m. Once at the scene, firefighters found smoke and flames billowing from the home.
Apparently, the flames originated from the attic and spread.
An elderly woman who lived at the home had to be taken to the hospital as a precaution, but not due to injuries from the flames.
Investigators do not believe the fire is suspicious, but they are still trying to figure out how exactly it was started. Firefighters say the building's "shake-roof" may have contributed to the fire's intensity.
