Six Arrested In Roseville Stolen Car Ring; Drugs Found In Home With Children

ROSEVILLE (CBS13) — Police found several stolen cars stripped and dumped in Roseville, as well as drugs and stolen property in two homes.

Two arrests were made on Thursday in addition to four others made on Wednesday in a car theft ring that snatched nine cars from Roseville and another three from Sacramento. All of them were recovered around Elefa Street and Hill Avenue, stripped and dumped.

The investigation led officers to two homes. Inside, police say they found drugs, needles and stolen goods.

"As far as why, well when we made arrests we found meth and that a lot of times is the motivation behind property crimes," said Roseville Police spokeswoman Dee Dee Gunther.

Three women were inside one of the home at the time of the search.

"There were three small children in one of the houses in the same vicinity as meth," Gunther said.

Those children are now with Child Protective Services. The women are behind bars, charging with maintaining a drug house, child endangerment and possession of drugs and stolen property.

But police believe there are more car burglars out there.

"We think there's a pretty good number of people involved," Gunther said.
