Stockton Teen Fends Off Would-Be Dog Thieves

STOCKTON (CBS13) – Police say a teen out walking Thursday afternoon was confronted by couple who tried to steal his dog.

According to the Stockton Police Department, the incident happened near Quail Lakes Drive and Alexandria Place just after 4 p.m. A 19-year-old man reported to police that he was out jogging with his 10-month-old dog when a rusty, mid-80s Toyota 4-Runner pulled up in front of him.

A middle-aged man then jumped out of the passenger seat and yelled at the teen to give him the dog.

The man moved towards the teen and pushed him, but the teen struck back and managed to knock him to the ground. A middle-aged woman then got out of the car and grabbed the dog, but the dog bit her and broke free.

Both the man and woman then got back in their car and took off empty handed.
