DeMarcus Cousins Replaces Kobe On All-Star Team

Gman interviews DeMarcus Cousins

Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins will be headed to New York for All-Star weekend.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver selected Cousins as an injury replacement for Lakers guard Kobe Bryant. Cousins is the first Kings all-star since 2004 when Peja Stojakovic and Brad Miller were on the team.

"I'm extremely excited to play in my first All-Star game," Cousins said in a statement released by the team. "I appreciate the recognition and want to also thank my teammates and the fans for their support throughout the season. Representing the Kings and the city of Sacramento is a great honor."

Cousins is 5th in the NBA in scoring, 3rd in rebounding and 4th in double-doubles. He joins James Harden, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Chris Paul and LaMarcus Aldridge as Western Conference reserves.

The game will be played Feb. 15 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.
