Group Of Suspected Female Bandits May Be Behind String Of Thefts Across California

ROSEVILLE (CBS13) — A group of suspected female bandits have investigators from different agencies looking into whether they're behind a string of thefts across California.

In all the cases, one woman goes for the cash while the others distract the victim.

The victim we spoke to doesn't want to be identified, because the women stole her wallet and have her personal information.

"They're very experienced they're not afraid of anything," she said.

Cameras at D'Luna Boutique in Roseville recorded every alleged calculated move.

According to the victim, three women kept her busy, while one serves as a lookout to give the woman in purple a chance to strike. She allegedly steals the victim's wallet, then they women wait around for another 45 minutes. That's when she says the woman in purple gets a glimpse of the stack of cash in the back.

"Finally, when they got their chance they went back," she said.

The women allegedly left with nearly $5,000 and her credit cards in December. The suspects were never caught.

Then on Monday, the victim saw a video of five women suspected of stealing a store owner's wallet and ring in Salida. She believes it's the same woman is the one in purple from December. One of the suspects also appeared to be carrying the same bag.

"I started shaking I've seen the video from our store so many times I can clearly identify them," she said.

Investigators are looking to see if they are in fact the same women, but Roseville Police do believe the group who hit her store also hit a Roseville nail salon weeks later. They allegedly distract the owner while another goes for her wallet.
