Merced Pediatrician Accused Of Hiding Camera In Office Bathroom

MERCED (CBS13) — A pediatrician is accused of hiding a camera in a bathroom in his office, and possessing child pornography, the Merced Police Department said on Tuesday.

Dr. Carlos Teran was arrested on Tuesday after an investigation tied him to a camera discovered in a bathroom last week.

According to Merced Police, a parent of a patient at the Golden Valley Health Center found a camera hidden inside a flower arrangement on the back of a toilet. The parent took the camera to the administration building.

Investigators staked out Teran's home and the clinic, and took him into custody as he made his way to work. A search warrant was served at his home.

The bathroom was a unisex bathroom without individual stalls, and required patients to be buzzed in to access it.
