'Godzilla' The Iguana Stolen From Southern California Pet Store
PARAMOUNT, Calif. (AP) — Los Angeles County sheriff's detectives are investigating the theft of an iguana named Godzilla from an outdoor area in front of a pet store in Paramount.
The Sheriff's Department says surveillance video shows a man in baggy clothing taking the iguana from the fenced area Monday afternoon.
The theft drew television news coverage and Godzilla was recovered when the owner of another pet shop recognized the iguana as one that had been purchased from someone on Tuesday.
Detectives are using security video to try to identify the thief.
