Suspect In Two North Highlands Attacks On Women Arrested In San Diego

NORTH HIGHLANDS (CBS13) — A man has been arrested in San Diego for two sexual assaults that happened in the North Highlands area," the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department announced on Thursday.

Ibrahima Wane, 19, was arrested on Jan. 30 for the sexual assault of a 68-year-old woman in North Highlands on Dec. 20, as well as an attempted sexual assault on Dec. 31.

In the first incident, deputies say he forced the elderly woman in to her home when she was returning home from a walk. In the New Year's Eve incident, he allegedly pulled a 42-year-old woman off her bike and attempted to assault her.

Wane was found in the San Diego area after a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was transferred to the Sacramento County Jail on Thursday where he is being held on $2 million bail. His first court appearance is set for Friday.
