Sacramento State Loses Game, Big Sky Conference Lead To Eastern Washington

CHENEY, Wash. (AP) - Ognjen Miljkovic and Parker Kelly combined for 31 points, hitting 11 of 17 3-pointers and Eastern Washington held on to defeat Sacramento State 64-61 on Thursday in a showdown for first place in the Big Sky Conference.

Drew Brandon added 13 points, including two free throws with 3.1 seconds left for the Eagles (19-5, 10-1), who won their sixth straight since losing 90-77 in Sacramento.

Mikh McKinney led the Hornets (16-7, 10-2), who had their seven-game winning streak snapped, with 21 points. He had 11 in the last seven minutes, including three free throws with 4.7 seconds left as Sacramento State rallied from a 16-point deficit to pull within 62-61. After Drew's free throws, the Hornets threw the inbounds pass away.

Eastern has 10 league wins for the second times in its 28 years in the league. The Eagles blocked 13 shots.

The Hornets shot 31 percent and fell behind 31-24 in the first half.
