Turlock Police Looking For Teen Driver Who Hit Young Child, Took Off

TURLOCK (CBS13) – Police in Turlock are looking for the driver of a car that took off after hitting a young child late Friday afternoon.

According to the Turlock Police Department, the incident happened on Lambert Way near N. Soderquist Road just after 5 p.m. A young man, believed to be between 16 and 19 years old, was driving a gray sedan and hit a young child in the area.

Police say the driver stopped for a moment after hitting the child, but then took off. He has not come forward as of Saturday night.

The child was left with serious injuries. Its current condition has not been released.

The car is described as either a gray, 2000 model Ford Focus or Honda sedan. Anyone who knows who the driver may be is asked to call the Turlock Police Department at (209) 521-4636.
