Roseville School Volunteer Accused Of Inappropriately Touching Student

ROSEVILLE (CBS13) – A volunteer for a Roseville middle school has been arrested on allegations he inappropriately touched a student after class.

The incident happened Tuesday a little after 3 p.m., after class at Cooley Middle School had been dismissed. School officials say someone saw an adult volunteer inappropriately touching a student as the student walked by the person's car.

Staff kept an eye on the suspect – 70-year-old Leslie John Silva – and took the student into the office.

Once at the scene, officers arrested Silva. He is facing a charge of lewd and lascivious acts on a child under the age of 14.

Silva reportedly knows the victim through volunteering at the school. Police are investigating where there are any more possible victims of Silva and ask anyone with information to call them at (916) 774-5070.

Silva is being held at Placer County Jail on $200,000 bail.
